We got through another weekend. It wasn't too busy so that was nice for a change. We tore apart the playroom. We took everything out and sorted, threw away, and made a give away pile. We also have a big pile of stuff that needs to go back to its owner. Wish I had done that before Amy moved, a lot of it is hers. We almost have it all put back together. Hopefully that will be completed today.
I think our "crisis" is over. Bethany is eating some and getting into everything. She has even started smiling again. James got the bug too, but seems to be better now. *knock on wood* I seem to have escaped it.
My focus right now is on Bethany's birthday and Shai's upcoming visit. I talked to her yesterday and she has requested to go swimming. I've got a few things we can go do. I may let it be her choice. I am trying to keep most things indoors so we aren't out in the heat too much!
I hope you are all having a great summer! TTFN!

What a difference a year makes.

Megan June 2006 Megan July 2005
I brought home Megan's picture from "school" this year and put it on the fridge next to the one from last year. It is so amazing how much she has changed. I still am not sure how to use my scanner, but wanted to share this with you all. So, I took a picture. Can you believe how much she has grown?
Bethany at the Hospital
Things have calmed down....
Things are a little calmer now. Nobody is throwing up, James got my sink fixed late Monday night, and Bethany is starting to eat a little bit! Did I mention that the toilet was leaking on Monday? Well, James worked on that too, but it is still leaking. Guess what he'll be doing after church tonight? :)
Well, Bethany is doing better. She hasn't been eating or drinking much. So I took her back to the doctor this morning. She is doing okay and they said to just keep trying and keep her on the meds. She did start eating a little at lunch today! WOOHOO! Nothing like a good ole $60 office visit to get a girl to eat. She is beginning to crawl around and get into everything again. So I guess that is good.
Megan went to her last day of "school" today. Today's topic was Daniel in the Lions' Den. Of course she loved it, but I think she was a little scared of the "lions". I am so thankful that Spring Creek has started doing VBS! (Especially since we no longer do it at our church. I think every child should get that experience.) Spring Creek did an excellent job! I met them at the picnic they had after VBS today when I got done with Bethany at the doctor. We had a good time until right at the end. Megan fell down and scraped up her leg. It was very sad! Daddy surprised us and came by for a little visit during his lunch, so he got to carry her to the car. She just couldn't walk on her injured leg. I think we have a "drama queen" on our hands.
I am trying to get the house back in order and get the laundry done. I had to wash ALL of our towels, plus bath mats and kitchen mats, plus our regular stuff. Megan also wanted to take the baby swing down. Since we don't ever use it, I did. So I washed the cover to that too. Thank goodness for washing machines! James is on his way home, so I better go get supper ready. He had his review today. I am anxious to see how it went.
A special hello to Amy and family ( www.schlupscoop.blogspot.com ). I am so glad you all made it to Colorado safely. If you had to leave, at least you left safely. I hope you find the perfect house for you all. I know you will. Even though it's only been a couple of weeks since I've seen you, I miss you more than ever. I love you Big Sis!!
Also a special hello to Grammy! We are glad you had a safe trip to the Land Down Under. Tell Nettie we all say hello. We can't wait for you to get back. It seems like forever since you left. Have fun and take lots of pictures (I know you will have tons)! :) We love you!
I will get off of here now and post some pictures before I end up writing a book. Will update in a few days.

When it rains.....
well, you know, it pours! What a weekend we had! As I posted previously, Bethany was sick on Friday. She was still sick on Saturday. By Sunday morning she was one very sick baby. (She fell asleep in the shower, that's how bad it got.) So we took her to the emergency room Sunday morning. What a happy father's day for James. They gave her an IV and ended up keeping her over night. Their original diagnosis was a bladder infection, but further testing ruled that out. It just looks like she a bad case of the stomach bug. We got home around noon today, and then Megan started throwing up. We all took a nap, then after our nap Bethany was throwing up again. So I cleaned my kitchen and continued to do laundry just in case they sent us back to the hospital. They did not send us back, but did put Bethany on some medicine to calm her tummy. Then to top it all off, our sewer is backed up. GRRRR! James worked on it all evening. He finally gave up and called the city. They are going to come take a look at our external lines. Hopefully the problem is there and not in the house. So, life at the Morton house is kind of crazy right now. I just pray I don't lose my sanity before this is all over.
Megan went to VBS today and loved it. She just loves going to "school". James said she talked all morning about how Grammy took her to school last time. She has such a great memory. It breaks my heart that she is sick and won't be able to go to "school" tomorrow. We have already talked about it. She is sad, but seems to understand. Good thing is that we will be taking her to VBS at Mom and Dad's church next month.
I will post some hospital pictures of Bethany tomorrow. We didn't take any until after she was feeling a little better, so you won't get to see how pitiful she was. You will get the idea though. I will also post some of the girls together. For now, I am going to bed. Good night!

Bethany's First Steps
I almost forgot.... Bethany took a few steps last night. I think she really wants to run, but just can't quite get her balance. It won't be long before she is up and running for sure!
A Sick Baby Girl
This week has been busy, but we have come to a screeching halt. Bethany woke up at 4:30 this morning and was throwing up. She is now sleeping and seems to be some better. I just hope Megan doesn't get it.
Megan hurt her big toe on Tuesday and has really milked it for all its worth. She still has to have a band-aid on it. I am hoping she doesn't rip the toenail off the rest of the way.
Bethany has a birthday coming up in about 6 weeks. I think I have decided on a pink poodle theme. Any ideas or suggestions? I am going to try to keep it a small party.
We went and saw Mawmaw and Pap last night. It was good to see them and Johnathan and Daniel. We watched the Mavs game, played a little air hockey (I actually beat Daniel once), and just had a good time. I hope we didn't take them any germs.
I guess that's it for now. My goal this week is to figure out how to put some pictures on here.

Megan Funnies
Just thought I would share one of Megan's latest "funnies". She has been wanting the motorized Cinderella car at Walmart for her birthday. I told her she could either have a birthday party or the car, which would she like. She thought over her options for a minute then said, "I want the car for Christmas." She is too smart for me. :) We got back from Mom and Dads house safely on Saturday and headed straight to a birthday party. The kids had a great time swimming. Megan actually got in the water. She floated around in her little ring for a long time. She wanted to "swim by myself" and didn't want anyone helping her. Bethany loves the water and couldn't get enough of it. They are just too sweet. Grammy and Papa are coming to visit tonight. We are anxious to see them. We want to wish Grammy a safe journey to and from Australia!

Our Moments
I just wanted put this together so that we could share with all of you some of the moments of our lives. The girls are growing so fast and changing every day. Megan is already four and is already talking about turning five. She has already begun planning her Dora party (January sure is a long ways away). Bethany is 10 months now. She is crawling, trying to walk, and cutting teeth like crazy. They are both too cute for words! I will have to figure out how to get pictures on here. We, the parents, are doing fine. Mostly just enjoying raising our two precious girls.
