Happenings.....

We have been going here and there and every where lately. Last Thursday Megan got to go spend the night with Grammy and Papa. She thought she was big stuff! She kept telling Bethany "I'm going to Grammy's house and you're not." Papa met us at the mall to pick her up. While we waited for him to get there the kids got to play in the play area. Taylor and Hannah were at Grammy's also and she really enjoyed her time with them. Unfortunately she got very sick that night. She was running a fever, wheezing, and coughing her head off. They had a rough night, but made it through. She did NOT want us to come down there, she wanted to stay with Grammy and Hannah! The plan was to pick her up on our way to Mom and Dad's but Papa had to bring her back so I could take her to the doctor. The doctor said she just had a "virus" but he put on some steroids to give her lungs a boost. She still has a runny nose but is MUCH better!

We went to Mom and Dad's Friday night. Mom and I got up Saturday morning and went to San Antonio to pick up Amy. She had ridden the church bus down with Rob and the group that was going to Mexico. We got to see Aunt Wanda and Sarah while we were there. It was fun, but we spent lots of time in the car. Amy will be riding back with them on Saturday. Please pray for their safe travel. Dad and James took the boat out on the lake while we were gone. They didn't catch anything, but I think they had a good time. We had a good weekend at Mom and Dad's but it was kind of a crazy weekend.

This week we haven't done much until today. Today was Parker's birthday (Megan's friend from church). They had his party at a place called Jump'N Land. They had big room reserved just for us. It had a bounce house, a HUGE bouncey slide, and a bouncey maze. We all had a blast. Even the adults played! Megan is begging to have her party there now.

Not much else planned for a little while anyway. I have started putting some stuff on ebay. Hopefully that will make us a little money. We are also going to sell the Accord. So if you know anyone that would like to buy a nice red 2000 Honda Accord, let me know. It runs well and looks good except for the little bit of wrinkle in the driver's side door. I also have a friend who is selling a Honda Pilot, if you might be interested.
We just got a call from Grammy and Papa and they are going to Florida for the week. They are going to go see Jared and Ann while Grammy has some time off. Please pray for their safe travel! Ann is feeling good now and the doctor said everything looks great. Only 5.5 more months before the newest Morton will be here!
One more thing...Bethany just came up to me frowning and putting her finger. She kept saying "Ba Lay". I thought she was telling me she hurt her finger. So I kissed it but she kept frowning and say "Ba Lay" over and over. I finally looked to see where she was pointing and saw the band aids. HAHA I asked if she needed a band aid and she gave me the cutest grin. So I put a band aid on her "hurt" finger and she is happily playing now. TOO CUTE!
Don't forget to scroll down and see the Father's day picture. It is really sweet!

Happy Father's Day!

I hope all of you Dad's had a great Father's day. We spent the day with James' dad this year. They came up for lunch at our house. We had roast with gravy, mashed potatoes, baked beans, green bean casserole, rolls, and pecan pie. James came up with the menu and I cooked it. I must say it was delicious. I was rather proud of myself for making the gravy. I have never made gravy that way before. After lunch we went to see Mawmaw and Felix. Larry and Cindy came by with their grandsons. It was good to see all of them. After the evening services we ended the day at Arby's. I think James enjoyed his day. He received a new leather-bound song book (like the ones we have at church) and a new pair of pants from the girls. I think he really liked them both. Our girls sure do love their Daddy!

Since the reunion.....

After the reunion we went in to town and had lunch together. Then went out to see my dear Aunt Lois! She is such a sweet lady. After that we went to Dumas to see James' family. We stayed with his grandparents and had a nice time visiting with them. We also got to see his 2 uncles and his great aunt and uncle. All the rest had other things that prevented them from coming over. Maybe we will catch them next time.
We came home and got to work on the house. We are trying to get ready for a garage sale. All of the stuff is now sitting in a big pile in the middle of my garage. I need to get it sorted and tagged and out of here. I want my garage back. I am tired of parking outside.

Megan is now learning to read! She thinks she is so big. She can read two books now without help and she is working on the next one really hard. Hopefully she will have it down before we go to Grandmom's this weekend. She also has two new fish that she is so proud of. The other two died while we were gone. The replacements died and so now we have two more. They are Sarah and Char-Char.

Bethany is growing day by day. James and I both noticed in the same day that she seemed heavier. She is talking more and more and getting in to everything!!!!! I'm not sure how one little girl can make such a huge mess. Oh well, some day she will hopefully outgrow that.

I took the girls swimming for the first time yesterday. They had fun even if the pool was FREEZING. You did get used to it, but it was still cold. The hot tub was nice though.

That's about all going on in our world. I have not forgotten the blog, just haven't felt like posting. Hopefully I will get more on here. I will post pictures later. James has the laptop that has all of the pictures on it already. Hope you all are doing well. LOVE YOU ALL!!!

I love my family....

So the family reunion has come and gone again! I think everyone had a good time. Megan is still asking me how long until the next reunion. It's so good to see my child loving it as much as I always have. I was sooo excited to see those who were there and missed those who weren't. I really wish more would come. You all don't know what you are missing. I think loving our family and being together is a large part of what life is all about.
The kids had a great time during our Army day. They got to do a lot of "basic training". Our "Commander" aka Amy did an excellent job putting it together. My kids are still playing with all of their Army gear.
There was lots of food, fun, and fishing for all. The food was once again excellent. Mom and Amy do such a good job putting together our menu. The fishing was fair this year, but the guys still went out and gave it their all. James came home with the trophy and it has been engraved and proudly displayed in our front room. And of course the fun.... The 42 tble stayed hot this year, as many were ready and willing to play. There were also canasta and Uno games going on at various times. And don't forget the constant chatter always heard on the front porch! The Isbell reunion has been and is one of my favorite things in life!
